Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
After upgrading vRLCM to version 8.8.0 you notice that the certificates stored in locker are no longer associated or marked as In Use by their correct corresponding products

Environment

VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Cause

The issue is caused by a change in how vRLCM stores & validates the certificate objects in the 8.8 release. Previously the SHA256 was leveraged where as now the SHA1 value is being used. Under certain circumstances this can result in broken references between the deployed products and their corresponding locker certificate entries. The certificates leveraged by the solutions may no longer be shown as In Use

Resolution

The fix is included in vRLCM 8.10 version.

To resolve the issue perform the following steps

1. Upgrade the affected vRSLCM 8.8 environment where the issue is reproduced to vRSLCM version 8.10

2. Post upgrade, make sure that the certificates used in the products are available in vRSLCM Locker. If not present they can be imported.

3. Trigger an inventory sync in vRLCM  for the affected vRealize Suite products.

4. Post inventory sync request is completed in vRLCM, validate the certificate reference in locker and in the product details page are updated correctly with respective certificates for the products.
