Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi

Cause

Even though the IORM is disabled, the stats collection is enabled. This will lead to some stats gathering activities and periodically the injector might detect some non-VI workload.

Resolution

This message is purely informational and can be safely ignored.  It is possible to turn OFF stats collection if desired:

To disable the Alarm:
1. Log in to vCenter Server using the vSphere Client.
2. Click the vCenter Server in the Inventory.
3. Click the Alarms tab.
4. Click the Definitions sub-tab. A list of defined alarms is displayed.
5. Right-click the Unmanaged workload is detected on the datastore alarm and click Edit Settings.
6. Deselect Enable this alarm.

Workaround:
Alternatively, the statistics collection can be disabled.
In the datastore view go to Configure -> General -> Storage I/O Control -> Disable Storage I/O control and statistics collection.
