Issue/Introduction

This article provides information about the teaming and failover health check alarm being reported in vCenter Server even when it's disabled.

The Virtual Distributed Switch (vDS) alarm for teaming health check can be triggered even after being disabled from the vCenter Server UI.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 7.0
VMware vSphere ESXi 6.7

Cause

In some instances, when the alarm is disabled from the VC UI (after being enabled), the alarm property will not close at the ESXi host, this can lead to occasional team health check alarms.

Note: When a DVS is created, teaming health check is disabled by default.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vSphere ESXi 7.0 Update 1 (build number 16850804).

Workaround:
There is no workaround available. The alarm can be ignored.
