Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
vSphere Distributed Switch Healthcheck alarms for VLAN are triggered after upgrading to or installing NSX for vSphere 6.4.0 and above versions.

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.x

Cause

In NSX for vSphere 6.4.0 and above, logical switch portgroups have VLAN configured as None. This issue occurs when the vDS Healthcheck sends probes with no VLAN tag.
This can trigger alarms depending on the configuration of the native VLAN on the physical switch port.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting NSX for vSphere 6.4.x.
Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue, disable the vSphere Distributed Switch Healthcheck or change the the physical switch configuration to allow untagged traffic.

Note: The alarms can be cleared but can trigger again when an ESXi host is rebooted.
