After deleting machine resources such as attached disk, the deployment contains orphaned resources and is now out of sync with the endpoint

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• When deleting a machine with attached disks, the disks are deleted on the backing endpoint but are still shown on the deployment.
• The disks cannot be managed as they still show as attached.

Resolution

To remove the disks from the deployment please use a different template to generate an Update plan which does correct the deployment

1. In Cloud Assembly > Design, select a different Template and click Deploy
2. In Deployment Type, change Create a new deployment to Update an existing deployment
3. Select the deployment with the Issue and click Next.
4. Now the Plan is generated, click Cancel and validate the deployment is now corrected.
