Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • If you are using an IPv6 address type on an ESXi host
  • If you are using Multicast Listener Discovery version 1 (MLDv1) in physical network
  • ESXi host may crash with PSOD while shutting down.
  • You may observe PSOD screen with a trace similar to:

Resolution

This issue is resolved in ESXi 6.7 Update 1 , available at VMware Downloads
In  ESXi 6.5 it is resolved in  ESXi 6.5 Patch ESXi650-201811002, available at Customer Connect Patch Downloads
In ESXi 6.0, it is resolved in ESXi 6.0 Patch ESXi600-201909001.

Workaround:
To workaround this issue,
  • Disable IPv6 or Disable MLDv1 from the network switch.
