Issue/Introduction
This article provides information on using the configure-network command-line utility in the Skyline Collector virtual appliance.
Resolution
The configure-network utility is used for performing various network configurations on the Skyline Collector virtual appliance. It provides guided options to configure:
Use this command to configure the network: /opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_config_net
IP Address: This can be either static (specifying the IP address and Subnet Mask) or dynamic (via DHCP).
DNS: Two DNS servers can be configured as needed.
Default Gateway: Allows configuration of the default gateway for the network.
Hostname:
The hostname of the vSphere Support Assistant virtual appliance. By default, the hostname is set to photon-machine. Run "/opt/vmware/share/vami/vami_ovf_process -r eth0" after the network configuration to preserve the changes on reboot.
