Issue/Introduction

This article provides information on minor vSphere 6.5 GA limitations for the Intel Xeon E3-1200-v6 processor.

Resolution

VMware vSphere 6.5 GA has the following limitations for the Intel Xeon E3-1200-v6 Processor:
  • No support for the Enhanced vMotion (EVC). However, vMotion works fine with Intel Xeon E3-1200-v6 Processor.
  • No support for running the virtual machines with Binary Translation.

    Note: This is a requirement only for old Guest Operating Systems require this.
     
  • The Virtual Performance Monitoring Counters (VPMC) feature is not supported.
