When attempting to create a Network Profile in the Connector (Source) HCX Manager.  Error: "Unable to create Network Profile" is seen

This can be seen by navigating within the HCX Connector to Interconnect --> Network Profiles

When attempting to create a Compute Profile in the Connector (Source) HCX Manager. No Resources available within the drop down Menu and only option is OK button

This can be seen by navigating within the HCX Connector to Interconnect --> Compute Profiles

Environment

VMware HCX

VMware NSX-T

VMware vCenter

Cause

This error occurs if the connection between HCX and the NSX Manager in the destination HCX Manager is in a disconnected state.

Note: The internal authentication tokens or communication state between the HCX Manager and the connected vCenter or NSX endpoints have become stale or desynchronized. This prevents configuration tasks from successfully completing, despite the UI reporting a healthy connection status.

Resolution

In the destination/Cloud HCX Manager 9443 page <https://<HCX_Manager_IP/FQDN:9443>, confirm NSX Manager details are correct and Re-enter NSX credentials by choosing:

  • Manage

  • Edit

  • Ensure NSX URL is correct and Re-enter Password for the configured NSX user

  • HCX Manager needs to be registered to both the vCenter Server and NSX-T Manager
  • HCX Manager needs to be registered to the same vCenter Server that NSX-T Manager is registered with
  • Navigate to the Appliance Summary tab and restart the following HCX services: app-engine, web-engine, and plan-engine.
