Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
The VAMI certificate generated has incorrect CN name which causes the certificate to be invalid.

Environment

VMware vCenter Lifecycle Manager 1.x

Cause

This issue occurs because of invalid certificate. Configuring the workflow path will throw a certificate error, because of this invalid CN name.

Note: This affects the OVA deployment in vRA that is installed through LCM Marketplace. As the workflow is import workflow, it imports the OVA from LCM /data path at the time of deployment.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager versions 1.3 and later.

Workaround:
To work around this issue:
  1. Download the 55786_cert-fix file attached to this Knowledge Base article.
  2. Unzip the file and upload the 15-vami-cert-gen file to /tmp in LCM VA.
  3. Run this command to provide permission to the file:
chmod a+x /tmp/15-vami-cert-gen
  1. Execute this file:
#/tmp/15-vami-cert-gen
