Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • You see a Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) deployment to VMware Cloud (VMC) on AWS fail.
  • You might see a message stating that the Certificate Smoke Test has failed.
  • You are deploying TKG using Antrea for the Container Networking Interface (CNI) and are using the default Cluster IP CIDR of 100.96.0.0/11.

Environment

VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Plus 1.x
VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid 1.x

Cause

The default IP address for the VMC segment DHCP server is 100.96.0.1/30. Using the default Cluster IP CIDR of 100.96.0.0/11 will overlap this address and cause a conflict.

Resolution

Use a different Cluster IP CIDR than the default 100.96.0.0/11. For example, 100.129.0.0/11 will avoid the noted overlap.
