Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
SDDC Manager UI Lifecycle-->Update fails with Error Code: ESX_UPGRADE_VUM_FAILED_REMEDIATION or ESX_UPGRADE_VUM_FAILED_TO_ENABLE_DRS_RULES
In the vCenter Server UI, you should see a message similar to "vSphere HA host status - vSphere HA agent for this host has an error: vSphere HA agent cannot be installed or configured"
Environment
VMware Cloud Foundation 2.1.x VMware Cloud Foundation 2.2.x VMware Cloud Foundation 2.3.x
Resolution
This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation. There is currently no resolution.
Workaround: In vCenter right click on the cluster with the alarm "vSphere HA host status - vSphere HA agent for this host has an error: vSphere HA agent cannot be installed or configured" and select "Settings". From the Tabs on the left select vSphere HA and then click the "Edit" button. De-select the "Turn on vSphere HA" checkbox and click "OK" button. Monitor the Recent Tasks pane until the process is complete. Re-enable HA by clicking on the "Edit" button. Select the "Turn on vSphere HA" checkbox and click "OK" button. Monitor the Recent Tasks pane until the process is complete and ensure that the alert is not longer on the hosts.
