Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Imaging a host with the VMware Imaging Appliance (VIA) fails.
  • The ESXi host MAC addresses were specified but were not entered in lowercase characters
  • You see messages similar to the following in the /var/log/evorack-imaging/via.log file on the VIA VM:

Note: The preceding log excerpts are only examples. Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environment.

VMware Cloud Foundation 2.3.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 2.2.x

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation 2.x. There is currently no resolution.

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, ensure that all ESXi host MAC addresses are entered in lowercase characters.
