Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • You see an exception similar to the following when generating logs with the sos utility in VMware Cloud Foundation 3.7:
Welcome to Supportability and Serviceability(SoS) utility!
Performing SoS operation for MGMT domain components
Logs : /var/log/vmware/vcf/sddc-support/sos-2019-03-04-12-35-52-100459
Log file : /var/log/vmware/vcf/sddc-support/sos-2019-03-04-12-35-52-100459/sos.log
(vim.fault.NotADirectory) {asks : [SDDC-CASSANDRA, API-LOGS]
   dynamicType = <unset>,
   dynamicProperty = (vmodl.DynamicProperty) [],
   msg = 'The object C:\\Windows\\System32\\cmd.exe is not a directory.',
   faultCause = <unset>,
   faultMessage = (vmodl.LocalizableMessage) [],

  • There is a failed VDI workload domain workflow in SDDC Manager.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 3.7.x

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation 3.7. There is currently no resolution.

Workaround:
The generated exception can be ignored as it has no impact on the functionality of the sos utility.
