Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Adding a host to a cluster may fail if the host was commissioned with an invalid disk configuration
  • The affected host has no cache or capacity disks present.


Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 3.0.x

Cause

VMware Cloud Foundation 3.0.x will allow a host to be commissioned when the disk configuration is invalid. There may be no capacity disks or no cache disks present on the host.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation 3.0.x. There is currently no resolution.

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, decommission the affected host and correct the disk configuration issue. The host can then be commissioned and added to a cluster.
