Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Virtual machines in a VMware Cloud Foundation 2.2 environment cannot communicate with systems that are not running on the same ESXi host.
  • NSX Host Preparation has configured the NIC Teaming policy to Fail Over.
  • The Teaming and failover policy for the portrgoup on which the virtual machine resides is set to Use explicit failover order.


Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 2.2.x

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation 2.2. This issue is resolved in VMware Cloud Foundation 2.3.0.

Workaround:
To work around this issue:
  1. Delete the pre-created VCF virtual wire.
  2. Navigate to InstallationLogical Network PreparationTransport Zones and delete the Transport Zone.
  3. On the InstallationLogical Network Preparation > VXLAN Transport page, click Unconfigure.
  4. On the InstallationHost Preparation page, click Configure under the VXLAN column.
  5. Select the correct VLAN, set MTU to 9000, and select Enhanced LACP as the teaming policy.
  6. Create the transport zone and add the cluster to it.
  7. Create required virtual wires.
