SDDC Manager for Desktop license keys cannot be used in VMware Cloud Foundation

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • When entering the SDDC Manager for Desktop license key, a License Key is invalid message is displayed after clicking the Verify button.
  • In the /home/vrack/vrm/logs/vrack-vrm-debug.log on the SDDC Manager Controller virtual machine, you see messages similar to:

Note: The preceding log excerpts are only examples. Date, time, and environmental variables may vary depending on your environment.


Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 2.x

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation. Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue, run VMware Cloud Foundation in evaluation mode until the evaluation period expires.
