Issue/Introduction

For customers who are planning to upgrade their NSX Lastline software, it may be advantageous to download new sandbox images in advance to speed up the upgrade process. Please see the Release Notes for specific sandbox image version names when using the below commands.

This process allows you to preload the new images onto the NSX Lastline Manager rather than downloading them again from the NSX Lastline servers during the upgrade.

Step 1: Download the new sandbox images

The version of the sandbox images depends on the software release, please see the list below for the version of images you can use.  NOTE: Please review the Release Notes for newer sandbox images and change the <revision_number> format based on the Release Notes.

Version 9.7 and later = 2022-07-16-01

Version 9.5 -> 9.6.1 = 2021-06-25-01
Version 9.3 -> 9.4.5 = 2020-03-13-01

Version 8.4 -> 9.2.1 = 2019-04-18-01

lastline@lastline-manager:~$ update-llama-images.py -r <revision_number>

Step 2: Confirm the download

Use the -f option* to the update-llama-images.py command to confirm that you successfully acquired all the sandbox images.

lastline@lastline-manager:~$ update-llama-images.py -f

 * -f is a good way to force a recheck to make sure the images aren't corrupt.
