When going into ISPF 3.4 and placing a B for browse in front of a dataset that is cataloged to ARCVOL we receive the following message: Error Obtaining the device named for the data set entered.

Issue/Introduction

Problem:

When going into ISPF 3.4 and placing a B for browse in front of a dataset that is cataloged to ARCVOL we receive the following message:       

Error Obtaining the device named for the data set entered.  

 

Resolution:

The IGG026DU intercept is not installed, you should reference the ASM2 Planning and Installation guide and follow the installation procedures for $IXR26DU and update the IGG026U Catalog Intercept. (SVC26) With ASM2's IXR's $IXR26DU catalog intercept which will allow ASM2/IXR to reload the chosen files dynamically.

If you do not have the IXR started task active you will also be required to start this as well.
