Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Expanding a VMware Cloud Foundation 3.0 workload domain fails when validating a host's SSL thumbprint.
  • Multiple DNS entries are present for the host for which SSL thumbprint validation is failing.
  • Removing the extra DNS entry does not resolve the issue.
  • The host in question may have been previously decommissioned and re-imaged.

Cause

The contents of the host's SSL certificate do not match the host's IP/DNS configuration.

Resolution

This is a known issue affecting VMware Cloud Foundation 3.0. There is currently no resolution.

Workaround:
To workaround this issue, the workload domain being expanded must be deleted, all hosts must be decommissioned and re-imaged and the workload domain must be recreated.
