Metric points with over 20 point tags sent to Wavefront are rejected

Issue/Introduction

Metric points with over 20 point tags are not available when querying. 

• Proxy logs show metric was rejected by the Wavefront cluster.
• Scalyr logs show the following for the rejected metric point:

  WARN [2019-08-30 03:48:05,987] DataIngester: [collector] Point blocked, more than 20 annotations

Cause

Wavefront has an enforced limited of 20 point tags for most clusters. If the number of key/value pairs associated with the metric point sent exceeds 20, then the metric point is rejected. 

Resolution

Reduce the number of point tags associated with the metric point to 20 or below.
