How to downgrade a vRealize Suite 2018 license key for use with VMware Cloud Foundation

Issue/Introduction

This article provides instructions to downgrade a vRealize Suite 2018 license key for use in VMware Cloud Foundation.

Cause

Some versions of VMware Cloud Foundation will not accept a vRealize Suite 2018 license key. A vRealize Suite 7 or  vRealize Suite 2017 license key must be used.

Note: The following table can be used to help determine what version(s) of the vRealize Suite license key will work with which version(s) of VMware Cloud Foundation and its constituent vRealize products:

Resolution

  1. Log in to the Customer Connect portal (https://customerconnect.vmware.com).
  2. Select Manage License Keys and then select Downgrade License Keys from the dropwdown menu.
  3. Select the vRealize Suite 2018 license key and then click the Continue button.
  4. Select vRealize Suite 2017 or vRealize Suite 7 from the dropdown menu. Set the appropriate quantity value. Click the checkbox in the warning area and click the Continue button.
  5. Make a note of the new license key and click the Done button.
Note: License keys can also be upgraded to support future deployments of new products as needed.
