This is a known issue affecting the VMRC and resolved in 10.0.2.
Workaround:
To work around this issue:
- Manually install VMRC from an elevated command prompt.
- Change directory to the directory where the MSI file is located
- Run the command adjusting for the VMRC version: msiexec /i VMware-VMRC-8.0.0-3250412.msi
OR
- Uninstall all vSphere Client instances.
Note: A reboot of the host OS system may be required.
- Install the VMRC.
- Re-install all vSphere Client instances.
OR, simply open an elevated command prompt, and run the following to complete the install:
CD to the DIR where the MSI file is
Run this:
msiexec /i VMware-VMRC-8.0.0-3250412.msi
