Datastore backing Content Library "does not exist, the storage backing might be removed, disconnected, or no longer accessible"

Issue/Introduction

• The Content Library Summary Storage section does not have a name next to the Datastore field
• The Content Library Storage Status appears as ? Unknown

• If the affected Content Library is a subscribed library, synchronization fails with the following error:

A specified parameter was not correct: The provided storage backing Datastore:datastore-12345:abcdefgh-1234-5678-9123-abcdefghijk for library xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx does not exist, the storage backing might be removed, disconnected, or no longer accessible via Datastore:datastore-2345:abcdefgh-1234-5678-9123-abcdefghijk.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 6.x
VMware vCenter Server 7.x
VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

The datastore backing the content library is no longer accessible or available.

Resolution

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
Rebuild the affected Content Library.
