VMware remote console black screen issue

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When you select a virtual machine in the inventory and clicking on the Console tab, you experience these symptoms:

• The VMware virtual machine console is just a black screen.
• There is no visible errors.

Cause

This issue occurs if you logged into the vCenter Server or ESXi host using HTML and do not have Virtual Machine Console User permission.

All users logged into the vCenter Server or the ESXi host using HTML requires Console Interaction permissions.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, grant Console Interaction permissions to all users using HTML.

1. Log in to vCenter Server or the ESXi host directly using a web-browser.
2. Select the ESXi host (if logged in to the host) or the Data-Center (if logged in to the vCenter Server).
3. Click the Permission tab.
4. using the  + symbol, select the appropriate Domain, User/Group & Role.
5. Select Propagate to Child Objects.
6.  Log-out and Log-in as user who experience the problem earlier to check and confirm if issue still persist.
