Enable Remote Tunnel / Remote Access on VMware Live Cyber Recovery Connector Appliance

Issue/Introduction

VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery (VCDR) Support Team may ask you to enable remote-tunnel / remote-access in order to check on any issues during troubleshooting of an ongoing investigation or to validate logs for any known issue based on the events observed during regular heartbeats.

Resolution

To enable remote-tunnel / remote-access on the VLCR Connector VM: 

• Login to VLCR Connector VM via SSH or console using "admin" credentials and run the below commands.
  • entersupportmode
  • support remote-access enable
  • support remote-access show
• Example :
  • vcdr-uptime-ohio-connector>> entersupportmode
  • vcdr-uptime-ohio-connector>> support remote-access enable
  • vcdr-uptime-ohio-connector>> support remote-access show

Note: The connector password is available in vLCR UI:

• Navigate to the Protected sites tab
• In DR Connector inner pane, select hamburger menu icon 
• Select Show password and copy the password.
