Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
When using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager in VCF mode, the user may have issues while creating a new environment if the VCF Mgmt domain was created without resource pools and more than one cluster is present in the MGMT vCenter.

In vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI -> Create Environment -> Infrastructure the error message will be as shown below:

"API response from SDDC manager is not in valid range, Check if all SDDC services are up and running."

In vrslcm.log the error message will be as shown below.

"Expected 1 but found multiple MORs of a type ResourcePool and name Resources"

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.1
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.4
Vmware Cloud Foundation 5.0.0.1
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.2
VMware Cloud Foundation 5.0
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.3
Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue and working to resolve this in a future release.

Workaround:
To work around this issue follow the given steps:
  1. Open the Mgmt vCenter UI.
  2. Create a Resource pool (in the cluster which contains SDDC Manager and vCenter VMs).
  3. Move the vCenter VM to that Resource pool.
  4. Go to vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager UI and refresh the page.
  5. Continue the vRSLCM workflow that was failing.
