SDDC Manager booting in Emergency mode

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Tried to log into SDDC Manager - 502 bad gateway Rebooted the Appliance - it goes into "You are in emergency mode'

 

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x
VMware Cloud Foundation 4.3.1

Resolution

When opening the console, this message is displayed:

Dependency failed for /dev/data_vg/vmware



Provide the root password on the console

Use # df -h to verify that there are no full filesystems and compare the output to the filesystem table (# cat /etc/fstab).



Run the below command to do a file system check

e2fsck -y /dev/data_vg/vmware

When all errors are fixed, reboot the SDDC Manager appliance

It should now be able to boot the SDDC Manager appliance
