Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Workflow optimization based workload domain create or add cluster fails during the validation with error - Invalid disk group type, as below.

/var/log/vmware/vcf/domainmanager/domainmanager.log

Environment

Vmware Cloud Foundation 4.5

Cause

If the user chooses SDDC Manager UI or workflow optimization script step-by-step input, then for Dell 15G server models, VCF chooses the default disk group type. But the default disk group type may change depending on other hardware factors.

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue and working to resolve this in a future release.

Workaround:

Use workflow optimization script and VxRail json input with valid disk group type.
