Issue/Introduction

The process to update invalid ESXi Host attributes in SDDC Manager inventory

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x, 5.x

vSphere 7.x

Cause

Host attributes values do not match the host inventory.

Confirm host attributes by exporting the host info from SDDC Manager inventory:

1. Log in via SSH as 'root' to SDDC Manager.
2. Run the following command to export host info to a file, then review the file:

psql -h localhost -U postgres -d platform -c "select hostname, host_attributes from host;" > /tmp/hostname_attributes.txt

Resolution

Re-commission the individual hosts into the inventory from SDDC Manager.

If unable to decommission and re-add the hosts to SDDC Manager inventory, contact Broadcom VMware GS for assistance in editing the vCenter MOB and SDDC Manager database
