Process for verifying if the Smarts Broker is available without using brcontrol.

Environment

Smarts 10.X / 2.x

Resolution

You can use the following command to check if the Smarts Broker is generally available without using brcontrol:

<BASEDIR>/smarts/bin/dmctl -s <Host>:<port>/dmbroker ping

The following shows an example of this command and its return:

./dmctl -s localhost:426/dmbroker ping
Domain Manager 'localhost:426/dmbroker' is alive
