How do I unsubscribe from the GroupJoin/GroupLeave notifications produced by a Smarts MCAST domain?

Receiving too many Smarts MCAST GroupJoin/GroupLeave notifications and they do not present any value to the operators

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Resolution

To unsubscribe from Smarts MCAST GroupJoin/GroupLeave notifications, do the following:

1. Open the dxa-mcast.conf configuration file for editing using sm_edit as follows:
   
   <BASEDIR>/smarts/bin/sm_edit conf/ics/dxa-mcast.conf 
    
    
2. Make the following change to the sub IGMPInterface entry:
   
   Before Change:
   sub IGMPInterface::.*::.*/e
   
   After Change:
   sub IGMPInterface::.*::IGMPInterfaceUnreachable/e
   sub IGMPInterface::.*::IGMPInterfaceImpacted/e 
   
    
3. Save and close the dxa-mcast.conf configuration file. 
4. Restart the Smarts SAM server to implement the configuration change in the live system.
