Disable Down Alerts for Interfaces or Ports that Show Admin Status as Testing

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

Alerts for Down interfaces or ports when the Admin Status is showing "Testing"

 

Environment

SMARTS - 10.1.x

SMARTA - 2.x

TCSA -2.x

Cause

Smarts has the alerts enabled by default if the interface or port is placed into "Testing" mode.

Resolution

• The  parameter is found in the in the Thresholds Settings under System Device Group <Device Type> through the Connectivity Settings.

 

• Example here below
  "Edit Polling and Thresholds> threshold-> system-resource-groups->switches->setting->connectivity -> TestingNotificationMode"

Set the "TestingNotificationMode" attribute to DISABLED)   The current DEFAULT setting is ENABLED. 

 

• The Connectivity Setting is also available under other Device Types in the System Resources Group.
