Issue/Introduction

The purpose of this article is to inform you about the issue and it's workaround.

Symptoms:
Starting a new virtual machine creation wizard from VMware Workstation User Interface. On the last screen of the wizard after clicking on the "Customize Hardware" button, a blank dialog box appears.

Resolution

VMware is aware of the issue and the purpose of this article is to provide you with the workaround.

Workaround:
Continue with the creation of the virtual machine without customizing the hardware in VMware Workstation. After the virtual machine is created and visible in the left panel, click on the virtual machine to see its tab in the right panel of the user interface. Right-click on the virtual machine name in the left panel and select "settings". A new dialog box for changing the virtual machine hardware appears. Customize the virtual machine hardware as per the need.
