How to clear the old or unused Virtual Machines shortcut from the Host Mac Operating System Dock

Issue/Introduction

To ensure old or unused VM shortcuts are removed from the Mac OS Dock.

Symptoms:
Virtual Machine shortcuts still appear on the Mac OS Dock for VMware Fusion Application.

Environment

VMware Fusion 11.x
VMware Fusion 12.x
VMware Fusion 10.x

Cause

Older or unused VMs shortcut information is cached in the host Mac machine.

Resolution

Clearing the menu from the Fusion clears the cache stored in the Mac OS Host machine.

1. Launch VMware Fusion.
2. Click on "File" from the top left menu bar next to VMware Fusion.
3. Select "Open Recent"
4. Click on "Clear Menu".
