Issue/Introduction
Symptoms: As a result of the OS installation getting stuck on the Getting Devices Ready screen indefinitely, the Operating system in the Guest VM is not getting installed.
Resolution
NA
Workaround: The user has to perform the below steps for the GOS installation to go through successfully-
Launch Workstation and while creating a VM select "I will install Operating System Later", then as you proceed in the OS selection screen select Windows 10 x64, VM will get created and powered off.
From VM settings > Hardware > Update the VM with 4GB RAM and 64 GB Hard Disk.
From VM settings > Options > Access Control > Encrypt the VM.
From VM settings > Hardware > Click on Add button, Select Trusted Platform Module Device, add it and save the changes.
From VM settings > Hardware > CD/DVD SATA, select the radio button "Use ISO Image file", then browse and select the ISO of Windows 11 and power on the VM, as the OS installation starts, select Windows 11 Home and proceed, installation should go through fine.
Start the installation, as it proceeds in the Windows 11 version selection screen select "Windows 11 Home" and click on Next.
NOTE:
This issue is also happening on Windows laptops having 11th Generation Processor with Tiger Lake CPU.
This issue is NOT happening on Windows laptops having 11th Generation Processor with Rocket Lake CPU.
