Unable to delete VM placement policy

Issue/Introduction

Unable to delete placement policy, below error appear when click remove:

"Cannot delete default vDC compute policy"

Cause

The reason why the placement policy in PVDC cannot be deleted is that the policy is set as the default policy by an OVDC. You need to set the policy as a non-default policy in OVDC before you can delete it.

 

Resolution

Referencing the vm placement policy guide:

1. Access the Provider portal
   
2. select Organization VDCs and select the named Org VDC.
3. Under Policies > VM Sizing select system Default Policy and set as default.
4. Go to VM Placement and remove the placement policy.
