Each host must have minimum bandwidth dedicated to vSAN, which is:
- For Hybrid configurations: dedicated 1 Gbps
- For All-Flash configurations: dedicated or shared 10 Gbps
- For ESA architecture: minimum 25 Gbps
See
Networking Requirements for vSAN document
Traffic shaping restricts the network bandwidth available on a port, but can also be configured to allow bursts of traffic to flow through at higher speeds. Improper traffic shaping policy on vSAN network might impact the vSAN I/O performance. Hence, this health check is to validate the traffic shaping policy on vSAN network, and make sure the policy is compliant with the minimum networking requirements of vSAN.
