Issue/Introduction

vCLS VM(s) are displayed as user VM(s) after cluster shutdown operation.

The following is seen in the shutdown cluster UI when re-run the cluster shutdown operation

 

 

This is the cause of failure to retry the cluster shutdown operation.

Environment

VMware vSAN 8.0.x

Cause

The root cause of this issue is currently under investigation by vSAN engineering.

Resolution

vSAN engineering are aware of and currently investigating this issue, once the cause has been determined a fix will be included in an upcoming vCSA/ESXi release.


Workaround:

The problematic vCLS VM(s) can be recreated via disable/enable of vCLS via vCLS retreat mode.
Once this VM(s) is recreated, this issue is resolved.
