HCX Bulk Migrations not progressing if Initial Sync runs for more than a week

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• On HCX version R140 Bulk Migrations do not receive VR sync updates for VMs if initial sync runs for more than 7 days. Migrations never converge and remain in “Waiting for switchover window” or “Switching over” status.

Cause

Long running migration jobs over 7 days may have been purged inadvertently.

Resolution

​​​​​​Upgrade HCX to service update R141 or later. Refer to HCX Release Notes for release availability.

Workaround:
If encountering this issue on HCX release R140, and the ability to upgrade is not available or possible, please open a support request with VMware for assistance in applying a patch to resolve this.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:
Migration jobs will fail and may become unrecoverable.
