Resolution

If the mouse is not working inside a converted virtual machine, you should remove the third-party mouse drivers (ideally before you convert the virtual machine), including Virtual PC drivers.

If it's not possible to remove the third-party drivers, you can customize your installation of VMware Tools to avoid installing the mouse driver. To do so:
  1. Launch Fusion.
  2. Go to Virtual Machine > Install VMware Tools. For more information on installing Tools, see Uninstalling and manually installing VMware Tools in VMware Fusion (1014522).
  3. This takes you to the installation wizard.
  4. Select Custom Installation.
  5. Deselect Mouse Driver from VMware device drivers.
  6. Follow the screen for installation.
  7. Reboot the virtual machine. The mouse now functions properly.

If you still cannot get your mouse to work, see Fixing a mouse or keyboard that is not working or is slow to respond in a Fusion virtual machine (1027805).
