When checking for host compliance in the Updates tab of the vSphere Client, the following error is displayed:
"Host cannot download files from VMware vSphere Lifecycle Manager patch store"
VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x
In vSphere 6.7 (Update Manager), it was possible to explicitly specify the IP address used for downloading updates.
However, in vSphere 7.x, this configuration option is no longer available in vSphere Lifecycle Manager (vLCM).
As a result, name resolution or connectivity issues may prevent hosts from accessing the vLCM patch store.
Make sure the ESXi hosts are able to resolve vCenter's fqdn.
nslookup <vCenterFQDN>
As a workaround, vCenter's FQDN can be added to the /etc/hosts file of the ESXi
