Issue/Introduction
Symptoms:
When managing a replication via the Cloud Director Availability Plug-In for Cloud Director, you see a message similar to:
vApp replication with id 'C4VAPP-12a2471c-####-####-####-########739' was not found.
This issue occurs when Organization Administrator credentials were used to log into the Cloud Director Tenant Portal or when connecting to the remote site in the Cloud Director Availability Plug-In.
This issue occurs when the replication is owned by the System Organization in Cloud Director.
Environment
VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.x
Cause
When a replication is owned by the System Organization, it will not be visible to Tenant Organization Administrators by design. Thus, if the Cloud Director Availability Plug-In for Cloud Director is using credentials from a Tenant Organization for either the local or remote site to retrieve details for a replication owned by the System Organization, it will have insufficient privileges to locate the replication.
Resolution
This is an expected behavior and the user level permission restrictions in Cloud Director Availability are behaving as designed.
To manage System Organization owned replications, perform one of the following:
Use System Administrator credentials when logging into Cloud Director and when prompted by the Cloud Director Availability Plug-In when connecting to the remote site.
Change the ownership of the replication from the System Organization to the Tenant Organization. For more information on how to do this, see the Replicating Workloads Section of the Cloud Director Availability documentation.
