Symptoms:
- Logging into the Cloud Director Availability Provider Portal using the root credentials fails, and you see an error similar to:
Authentication Failed
- In the /opt/vmware/h4/cloud/log/cloud.log file on the Cloud Director Replication Management Appliance, you see messages similar to:

...
- This issue occurs even though the root password has not expired and root credentials can still be used to access the Cloud Director Replication Management Appliance via SSH or console.
