This video provides steps to install Windows 10 as a guest operating system in VMware Fusion.
The VMware Fusion Easy Install method supports Windows 10. Windows 10 can be installed as a guest operating system in VMware Fusion following either of the two methods mentioned below:
Install Windows 10 in a virtual machine using Windows 10 ISO disc image
Install Windows 10 in a virtual machine using Windows 10 USB drive (EFI)
Follow the below steps to install Windows 10 in a virtual machine using Windows 10 ISO disc image in VMware Fusion using the Easy Install method:
In the Fusion menu bar, go to File > New. The New Virtual Machine Assistant starts.
Select Install from Disc or Image for the Installation Method.
Click on Continue.
Click Use another disc and disc image for the Choose an operating system installation disc or image option.
Browse to the folder where the downloaded ISO disc image is located.
Select the Windows 10 ISO disc image and click Open.
In the Operating System panel, ensure that Operating System is set to Microsoft Windows and Version is set correctly to Windows 10 or Windows 10 64-bit, depending on whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit that you are trying to install.
Click Continue.
In the Windows Easy Install screen, Select the Use Easy Install option.
Enter the Account Name, Password (optional) and Windows Product Key.
Note: The entry in the Password field is the password for the Windows administrator account only. VMware does not provide the Windows product key. The Windows product key is provided to you by Microsoft in the email that you received after you purchased Windows 10.
Click Continue.
Select the appropriate integration in the next screen.
Click Continue.
If you want to modify any of the settings, such as memory (RAM), CPU, or hard disk size, click Customize Settings and save the virtual machine to specify the non-default values.
Click Finish to save the virtual machine. The installation begins.
After the installation completes, it automatically installs VMware Tools. Restart the virtual machine when prompted.
To install Windows 10 in a virtual machine using Windows 10 USB drive (EFI) in VMware Fusion follow the steps below:
Launch VMware Fusion
From the VMware Fusion top menu bar click on File > New > Click on Create Custom Virtual Machine.
Select Windows 10 or Windows 10 64-bit as the Operating System, depending on whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit that you are trying to install.
Click Continue.
Click Create a new Virtual Disk and Click Continue.
Click Finish and Click Save.
The virtual machine will power on automatically and show No Operating System Found message.
From the VMware Fusion top menu bar click on Virtual Machine > Shutdown Virtual Machine.
After the virtual machine is shut down, from the VMware Fusion top menu bar click on Window > Virtual Machine Library.
Right click or Control click on newly created virtual machine and click Show in Finder.
Right click or Control click on the .bundle file of the virtual machine and click on Show Package contents.
Edit the .vmx file and add the following entry to the file. For more information, see Editing the .vmx file for your VMware Fusion virtual machine (1014782).

Quit VMware Fusion and re-launch it.
Power on the virtual machine.
After you see the No Operating System Found message, connect the USB drive to the virtual machine.
The virtual machine prompts you to either Connect to Mac or Connect to Windows. Click Connect to Windows.
From the VMware Fusion top menu bar click on Virtual Machine > Click on Send Ctrl+Alt+Del.
The virtual machine will reset and the Windows Boot Manager opens.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the operating system.
Note: For Fusion 10 and above, Select " UEFI " and continue after step 4 and continue to create a new virtual machine. Then continue to follow the steps from step 14 to complete the installation.
After the installation completes, install VMware Tools in the virtual machine. For more information, see Installing VMware Tools in a Fusion virtual machine running Windows (1003417).
