Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • Aria Suite Lifecycle versions 8.12.x, 8.14.x, 8.16.x and 8.18.x show old version information in console view following upgrade
  • The issue does not affect new installations but affects only upgrades

Environment

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Resolution

  • As this issue is cosmetic in nature, there is no fix planned for this behavior
  • As a workaround you can perform the following to try and restore the correct version being listed in the UI:

1. Clear the Browser Cache: Try logging into the Aria Suite Lifecycle UI using an Incognito/Private browsing window or force a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 / Cmd+Shift+R). This forces the browser to pull the latest UI assets.

2. Restart the Application Service: Occasionally a race condition during a full OS boot sequence can cause the vrlcm-server service to miss reading the updated version manifest file. If the Incognito window doesn't work, try restarting just the application service via SSH:
systemctl restart vrlcm-server
