Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
If a vSphere Proxy agent's "doDeletes" property is set to 'false', by default, when a VM provisioning fails or a machine is destroyed in vREalize Automation, the VM is moved to the VRMdeleted vCenter folder.

In vRealize Automation 7.5, a custom property was introduced to give ability to specify a folder in vCenter other than default.

Environment

VMware vRealize Automation 7.5.x

Resolution

1. Set the vSphere Proxy Agent DoDeletes to false, for this step refer to the Configure the vSphere Agent section in the vRealize Automation 7.5 documentation.

2.  In the vRealize Automation UI Navigate to  Infrastructure then Endpoints, click to edit your vCenter Endpoint, under properties add a property:

Name:  VMware.VirtualCenter.DoDeletesFolder
Value: <desired name of vCenter folder>

Select OK to save the custom property entry and OK to save the endpoint configuration.

Failed VM deployments & destroyed machines will now move to the specified folder.
