With the release of VMware Cloud Foundation 4.4.0 VMware have introduced flexible vRealize Suite product upgrades to enable more flexibility for customers to consume higher versions of the vRealize Suite than what is included in the particular VMware Cloud Foundation bill of materials. To ensure compatibility, certain checks are performed on the versions you attempt to install or upgrade. Consequently, you must follow certain upgrade paths to enable the various version upgrades. In most cases vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager product support packs (PSPAK) are required to enable this. Only URL and CD-ROM methods are supported for each upgrade and not ONLINE. To perform the upgrade, download and attach the update iso or extract it to an accessible web server.
2 VMware Aria Automation 8.16 is supported after applying Product Support Pack 4 or later on VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.14, and VMware Aria Automation Config is supported after applying Product Support 5 or later on VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.14, more information on VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.14 Product Support Pack Release Notes
The upgrade process involves stepping through the available vRSLCM releases as they are listed as available within vRSLCM.
vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager product support pack installation instructions are here.
The interoperability Matrix comparing versions of SDDC Manager and vRSLCM can be found here.
Note: For a new install of vRSLCM in a VCF 4.4.x environment, the process remains unchanged. We have to download the vRSLCM Install Bundle that is part of the VCF 4.4 BOM (via the SDDC Manager Bundle Management UI or an offline bundle download) and use that to deploy vRSLCM:
If you are running VCF 4.4.1, after the initial deployment of vRSLCM 8.6.2, we will need to update it to 8.6.2. PSPAK 3 to enable support for VCF 4.4.1
