SDDC Manager Update Status screen reverts to the previous update result during a component upgrade

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

During a component upgrade, when monitoring the in-progress upgrade using the Upgrade Status tab, the status will switch back to the previous completed upgrade status, whether successful or failed.

For example:

If we are monitoring the in-progress upgrade of the NSX-T components:



This status may randomly switch to the previously completed upgrade:



If we exit the status and check the status again, we will be able to see the current in-progress upgrade, but this may again flip to the previously completed upgrade.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x

Cause

This is due to an issue identified in the code base which results in reverting the upgrade status to the previously completed upgrade.

Resolution

This UI issue has been resolved in VCF 4.4.1.1

Workaround:

- Log out of the SDDC UI and log back in.
- Login to the SDDC UI using a private/incognito window.
- Monitor the upgrade from the component directly - i.e VAMI, NSX-T Manager, vCenter UI.
- Monitor the upgrade task via API.

Additional Information

Impact/Risks:
None: This does not affected any functionality and operational workflows of the SDDC Manager upgrade. The issue is purely cosmetic.
