Receiving traps in the Smarts OI server but no logfile is created

Environment

VMware Smart Assurance - SMARTS

Cause

LogFile is set to NONE (default).

Resolution

Edit SAM_BASEDIR\smarts\local\conf\icoi\trap_mgr.conf file.  Make sure the entry for the trap has a LogFile line in it.
Example:

        InstanceName:     $SYS$
        EventName:        ceAlarmAsserted-$V1$-$V2$
        Severity:         1

        Expiration:       0
        State:            NOTIFY
        EventType:        DURABLE
